My husband and I live in Alaska with our three beautiful girls, two dogs and a cat. Being practical and independent is so necessary for our kids, especially in the  case of an emergency; as our woods can turn you around instantly and our winters get rough —last year being at a low of -30℉ for TWO WHOLE MONTHS. Ouch! That bites! So needless to say, I do take our practicality serious.
